Track & field opened the week up ranking first and second in the ACC, after a dominant weekend at the Doc Hale Meet.

No. 11 women's basketball earned its first-ever road win against No. 22 NC State, defeating the Wolfpack 73-61.
 
After finishing first among collegiate athletes in the field, freshman Kenna Stimmel was named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week.
 
Carles Coll Marti and Noah Zawadzki were named ACC Performers of the Week after swim & dive dominated at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
 
Women's golf opened its 2023 season at the UCF Challenge and senior Becca DiNunzio finished at even par.
 
Men's golf traveled down to Johns Island, South Carolina to open its season in the Battle at Briar's Creek. Junior Kobe Valociek carded a 3-under 213 to lead the Hokies to a fifth-place finish.

The initial ITA rankings were released on Wednesday, and three members of the men's tennis team were named to the list.
 
Defensive back Chamarri Conner has been invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. You can see the former captain compete in Indianapolis from Feb. 28-March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

No. 11 Softball opened its season with a run-rule win over East Carolina, racking up 11 hits in its season opener.
 
Freshman Lyndsey Grein got the start of Tech and recorded a nine-strikeout outing, leading softball to a 5-1 win over UNC Wilmington.
 
The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee announced its first top-16 early reveal on Thursday night and the Hokies earned the No. 4 seed.
 
Sophomore Emma Lemley earned her second win of the season, tossing a one-hit shutout to lead softball past the UNC Wilmington Seahawks 6-0.
 
Junior outfielder Jack Hurley has been named to the 2023 Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List, an award that is presented annually to the nation's top baseball talent competing at the high school or collegiate levels.
 
Softball moved to 4-0 on the season after defeating East Carolina 4-2. The Hokies saw all starters reach base in the win.
 
No. 8 wrestling completed the sweep over North Carolina with a 28-8 victory over the Tar Heels on Friday night.
 
Track & field traveled up to Boston for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, and junior Lindsey Butler set the program indoor record in the women's mile, clocking in a personal-best time of 4:31.41.
 
Softball closed out opening weekend with a run-rule victory, shutting out Purdue Fort Wayne 9-0 in five innings.
 
On Saturday afternoon, Lacrosse earned its 200th program win with a 14-8 victory over VCU.
 
Men's basketball went on the road and defeated Notre Dame 93-87 on Saturday, led by a 33-point performance by graduate student Grant Basile.
 
Women's tennis improved to 6-1 downing East Carolina, 4-0, in Blacksburg on Sunday afternoon.
 
To close out the week, women's basketball defeated then-No. 19 Florida State 84-70, with junior Georgia Amoore leading all scorers with 25 points.
