A comprehensive description of the Virginia Tech Hokies' policies at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field. It is the team's wish that all patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience, and we believe that these policies will aid in accomplishing that endeavor.
Being a Hokie student isn't just about getting into the game, it's everything that surrounds it. Themed gamedays, exclusive giveaways, pregame fan fests at Hokie Village, and student-only contests on the field and in the stands before kickoff. Each home game brings something different, and students are always at the center of it.
Check the promotions page before every game so you know what's happening, what to wear, and what you might walk away with.
Student Hokie Club memberships are now included as a gift within the student season ticket ordering process. Students will only be asked to make one gift for their membership, thus students who have already made their $25 Student Hokie Club gift for the 2026-27 membership year will not be asked to make a second gift.
The Student Hokie Club provides Hokie students the opportunity to engage with and become a part of a strong and growing athletic community here at Virginia Tech through exclusive athletic experiences and promotional events. The club aims to foster a loyal fan base for all 22 varsity sports while providing support that affords Hokie student-athletes opportunities to reach for excellence on the field of play, in the classroom, and in the community.

Cassell Guard is the official student section for Virginia Tech basketball and includes thousands of students that join the sections on any given gameday in Cassell. Join other students, be rowdy, and cheer on the Hokies from tip-off to the final buzzer to make Cassell one of the toughest places for ACC foes to play. From themed nights and giveaways to the legendary traditions inside the Cassell, there’s no better way for a student to experience Virginia Tech basketball than being part of Cassell Guard.
Design interns will be ready to develop their existing skills by working with senior creative staff on a range of projects in support of the Virginia Tech athletics department. Responsible for helping to drive the creative direction of campaigns, an understanding of typography, layout, animation and art direction will be needed to help the team produce the best work possible.
Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite will be required.
Communication is a big part of the job, so design interns must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process. Keeping a finger on the pulse of current trends while keeping in line with our specific brand standards is key.
The Hokie Club Internship Program is an opportunity to learn more about athletic development and gain practical experience in preparation for a full-time opportunity or graduate school program. This role plays a critical role in the daily operations of the Hokie Club.
Collaborate with Hokie Club staff to execute initiatives in fundraising strategy, event management, premium seating operations, stewardship, gift accounting, and major gift prospecting. Manage the inbound phone line and provide excellent customer service to current and prospective Hokie Club members.
The Premium Hospitality Assistant is a key player in delivering an exceptional gameday experience within Virginia Tech’s premium seating and hospitality areas. As an ambassador for Virginia Tech Athletics and the Hokie Club, you will provide first-class service to donors, guests, and suite holders while ensuring operational excellence. Working alongside the game day operations team, you will serve as the primary liaison between premium guests and event management, ensuring smooth, high-quality memorable experiences on game days.
Marketing Intern positions hosted by the Virginia Tech Athletics Marketing and Fan Development department offers students the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of marketing, promotions, and game management in college athletics while helping to deliver memorable experiences for the Hokie community. Interns may develop industry-specific and transferable skills such as time management, effective communication, teamwork, event planning and production, creative problem-solving, and leadership.
There are two types of Marketing Intern positions available: Lead Intern and Events Intern. Lead Interns will work 12 office hours per week with focus on direct sport responsibilities and will work select home events based on availability. Events Interns will only work select home events (unpaid) based on availability, with ongoing opportunities to collaborate on special projects throughout the year. Both types of interns may receive course credit if desired. All Interns must be available to work all football home games.
The digital marketing undergraduate internship will be a part of Virginia Tech Athletics’ Revenue Strategy & Digital Innovation team with a primary focus on executing marketing campaigns across digital platforms inclusive of web, email, social media, and mobile app. This internship will assist in the creation, execution and evaluation of digital marketing strategies and campaigns designed to drive fan engagement, database growth and revenue generation. This position will also report on the performance of digital content and campaigns to help determine future strategies and tactics while identifying new opportunities to engage audiences, drive leads and generate revenue. To prepare you for a career after graduation, interns will also participate in professional development workshops throughout the academic year.
Interning with athletics communications grants opportunities in media relations, statistics, writing and public relations and game day operations with our varsity sports teams. Students interning in athletics communications also assist with social media coordination and work with graphic design, photography and creative video to best tell the stories in Virginia Tech Athletics.

The official student section is limited to only those with Virginia Tech student tickets and student companion tickets. Companion season tickets are available for purchase through the student season ticket process. Student season tickets for 2026 are sold out.
