GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Kenna Stimmel was named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Stimmel is ranked tied for third in the NCAA after clearing a personal-best height of 14' 7.25" (4.45m) in the women's pole vault at the Doc Hale VT Meet. Stimmel finished first among collegiate-athletes competing in the field. Teammate Julia Fixsen is tied with Stimmel for first in the ACC.
Virginia Tech will be back in action Feb. 10 -11 competing at the Music City Challenge (throws), Tiger Paw Invite (sprints/jumps), and David Hemery Valentine Invitational (distance).
