DiNunzio finishes at even-par at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Virginia Tech women's golf team opened its spring season at the UCF Challenge, placing 15th at 8-over 872. The three-day event was hosted by UCF at Eagle Creek Golf Club (par 72, 6,379 yards).

Becca DiNunzio led the charge for the Hokies by firing an even-par 216 to tie for 37th.

Wake Forest, ranked second in the country, finished the UCF Challenge at an impressive 41-under 822 to win the event. Four Deacs placed inside the top 20 of the individual standings. Mississippi State and Northwestern battled for second place with the Bulldogs edging out the Wildcats by one shot with a 38-under performance.

Individually, UCF's Anna Nordfors placed first with a score of 21-under 195, highlighted by a second-round 63 on Monday. Mississippi State's Julia Lopez Ramirez finished second at 19-under, followed by Wake Forest's Rachel Kuehn at 15-under.

The Hokies are back in action Feb. 19-21 at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida.
