Day two action brought thrice the accolades home for the Hokies. The team collected three event wins, eight personal-bests and seven all-time top-10 performances.
Julia Fixsen lit the meet up early, not only capturing the event win at 4.47m, but continuing to a personal-best and new NCAA-leading performance with her final mark of 4.58m. The event win is her first of the season, and the ninth of her career.
Lyndsey Reed joined the all-time top-10 performers list for the pole vault, landing 10th on the list with her Virginia Tech-best performance of 4.27m.
Katrin Brzyszkowska made her 2025 indoor debut in the shot put, capturing the event win with a 16.37m, out-performing a field of 20.
In the triple jump, Madison McConico and Federico Lorenzo Bruno stunted their talent, with Bruno capturing the event win and McConico securing the runner-up slot. McConico's 12.44m was a personal-best and earned her the No. 7 slot in the Tech all-time top-10 performers list, surpassing her previous mark of 12.29m. Bruno's 15.75m result was good for an NCAA career-high and elevated his standing at No. 8 in the all-time top-10 list. The event win was the first of his career as a Hokie.
Star Price dominated in the women's 1000m, boasting a 2:43.29 which moved her from No. 11 to No. 3 on the all-time performers list and marked a time drop of 4.84 seconds in the event. She was the top collegiate finisher in the field.
The men's 1000m was a sight to see, with George Couttie and Nick Plant finishing just two seconds behind Olympic gold medalist, Cole Hocker and Olympian Cooper Teare. Couttie's third-place finish in the event of 2:20.01 is good for the top collegiate performer in the field, the No. 2 all-time top-10 performance in Tech history, a career-best and a No. 6 national standing. The event becomes the second in as many weeks, where Couttie captured the No. 2 slot in the VT performers list, landing both the 3000m and the 1000m in both of his event debuts at the division I level. Christian Jackson also extended his mid-distance reign, earning the No. 10 slot in the all-time top-10 performers list for the 1000m with his 2:22.30. He now appears in the indoor top-10 lists in four events.
