Sam Hubert Season 2024

2024 Outdoor: Placed third in the 5000m with a time of 14:50.53 at the Hill City Twilight... Clocked a personal-best 1500m time of 3:51.29 at the Virginia High Performance... Finished third in the 10,000m at the Colonial Relays with a personal-best time of 30:20.59. 

2024 Indoor: Ran 8:30.49 in the 3000m at the Virginia Tech Invitational... Set a personal-best in the mile at the Hokie Invitational clocking in at 4:14.11.

2021 - 2023 at Kansas: Ran in both the 5k and 10k at the 2023 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, taking 23rd in the 5k with a time of 15:24.75 and 10th in the 10k (31:31.82)... Ran a season-best indoor mile of 4:17.62 at the 2023 Jayhawk Classic finishing fifth … Clocked a personal-best outdoor time 30:26.70 in the 10,000 meter at the 2022 Texas Relays, placing third.

HIGH SCHOOL
An eight-time letterwinner for coach Jack Sachse at De Soto High School (four times each in cross country and track & field) … Cross country team was he 2015 4A State runner-up and a two-time United Kansas Conference champion (2016, 2017) … The Wildcats’ track & field team claimed a runner-up finish at the 2019 5A State meet … That same season, the team was the Regional Champion … Two-time T&F team league champions (2018, 2019) … Had a productive and memorable senior year, as he finished as runner-up at the 5A State Cross Country meet as well as on the track in both the 3,200 meters and 4×800-meter relay … A member of De Soto’s school record-holding 4×800-meter team … Greater KC Cross Country Coaches Association All-Metro Team in both 2017 and 2018 … Kansas Cross Country All-Academic Team in 2018 … Class valedictorian … A National Merit Scholar.

Son of Daniel and Missy Hubert … Both parents are graduates of the University of Kansas; his dad with a J.D. degree and his mom with a B.A. … Has a younger sister, Quincy … Bachelors in biochemical engineering...Biomedical Engineering M.S. Candidate at Virginia Tech.
