BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech hosted the 2025 Doc Hale Elite Meet from Feburary 7-8.  In the meet, the Hokies collected four program records, one Rector Field House facility record, two national records, eight event wins, 21 personal-bests, 13 top-10 performances and 26 ACC qualifying marks.

DAY 1 RESULTS

To open the track events at the Doc Hale Elite Meet, George Couttie captured not only the event win, but the program record in the mile, boasting a 3:55.44 - a personal-best by over six seconds.  The mark is good for fourth in the ACC this season and 25th in the country.

Katie Bohlke made her indoor mile debut with an astounding 4:40.48, a result that lands her the No. 10 slot in the program's all-time top-10 performers list, 82nd in the country and 18th overall in the ACC.  She's the second fastest freshman in the event in the ACC this season and eighth fastest freshman in the country.

Continuing the record-breaking efforts on the track, Nick Plant recorded a 1:46.85 in the 800m, a new personal-best and the Rector Field House facility record.  Plant is the first Hokie to break a facility record since Lindsey Butler's 800m in 2022, and is the first male to break a record since Jacory Patteron's 400m in 2021. The event win in the 800m was the first for Plant in the 2025 season.

Christian Jackson contiued his standout season with a time-drop in the 800m, where he posted a 1:47.18, and elevated his event standing in the No. 5 hole of the all-time top-10 performers list.

Star Price captured her first event win of the season in the 800m, posting a resounding 2:03.74.  The mark places her fifth in the ACC this season and 19th in the NCAA.

In the women's 400m, Caitlyn Bobb faced her third event debut as a Hokie.  The sprinter boasted a 53.58 in the event, which placed her No. 6 in the all-time top-10 performers list and she captured her first event win of the season.  Bobb is currently fourth overall in the ACC this season and was just .08 off of the Bermuda national record of 53.50.

Sam Herenton earned his first entry into the record book with his 47.42.  He now sits at No. 8 in the all-time top-10 performers list and he captured his first event win in a Tech jersey.

Barbora Stejfova boasted a career-best mark of 20.43m in the weight throw, placing fourth in the event and elevating her standing as the No. 6 all-time top-10 performer in the event for Virginia Tech.  The 20.43m distance is good for fourth in the ACC this season.

DAY 2 RESULTS

Nate Paris opened day two in standout fashion, capturing the program record, and the U23 Canadian national record, in the heptathlon.  Previously, Paris was third in the all-time top-10 performers list, but after collecting 5,858 in his 2025 heptathlon debut, the multi secured the Tech record by 33 points.  Paris boasted career-best marks in five of the seven events and was the top collegiate performer in the event.  The 5,858 points places Paris 16th in the world so far in 2025, first in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA.

Stuart Pirtle, in his collegiate heptathlon debut, collected 5,284 points - a feat that landed him in the No. 4 slot of the all-time top-10 performers list for Virginia Tech.  He currently sits at sixth in the ACC.

The women's 500m race brought an excess of accolades back for the Tech women in the event.  Caitlyn Bobb shattered the program record in the event by over one second, a 15 year-old record held by Asia Washington previously, and splintered the Bermuda national record with her career-best 1:10.54.  The 1:10.54 places her third in the NCAA this season and is just .08 off of the USTFCCCA all-time top-25 list.  Star Price also had an admirable race, collecting a personal-best of 1:12.30, which lands her No. 5 in the all-time top-10 performers list and ninth nationally in the event.  Krystalann Bechard made her record book debut in the event, posting a career-best 1:14.29 to land the No. 10 slot in the all-time top-10 performers list and the No. 22 spot in the NCAA this season.

Judson Lincoln IV expressed his dominace in the men's 500m, boasting a program record-breaking 1:01.22 and capturing the event win.  The mark lands him No. 17 all-time in the NCAA and gives him the national lead in the event.  The 500m is the second program record Lincoln IV has broken thus far in the 2025 season.  Tomas Kersulis followed Lincoln IV's efforts with a 1:02.01, which places him No. 2 all-time in the 500m for Tech.

Both men's and women's DMR teams captured the event win for the Hokies.  The men's team went 9:39.66 in the event with Ethan Coleman (2:55.32), Nick Plant (48.76), Viktor Idhammar (1:51.08) and Dylan DeCambre (4:04.52) competing the team.  The women's DMR recorded a time of 11:25.19 with Lila Waters (3:27.87), Farah Nasir (54.91), Avery Legault (2:12.07), and Kenza Elakari (4:50.36) posting a season-best result for Virginia Tech.

In the women's bronze pole vault, Julia Fixsen captured her second event win of the season, reaching a height of 4.53m.  In her three appearances so far this season, Fixsen has reached over 4.50m in all three outings.  Rounding out pole vault for the Hokies was Lyndsey Reed, who reached a Virginia Tech career-best 4.32m height, which pushed her from No. 10 in the all-time top-10 performers list to No. 9.  The 4.32m mark lands her third overall in the ACC and 26th nationally.
