HEADLINES FROM LAST WEEK

On Monday, women's golf traveled to Chapel Hill to compete at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. Tech finished in eighth place out of the 14 schools attending. Senior Symone Henriques led the Hokies with an even-par 216 at the two-day event, which netted her an eighth-place finish, the second top-10 finish of her career.
 
Men's soccer welcomed Princeton to town on Tuesday night and fell 5-0. Tech recorded five shots on target, two in the first half and three in the second. Goalie Connor Jordan-Hyde recorded his second career start and made 12 saves on the night.
 
Women's soccer fell to No. 5 Notre Dame 1-0 on Thursday night. The Hokies recorded 10 shots on the night, with five of them being on goal. Tech faced 15 shots from Notre Dame with three shots on goal.
 
On Friday, volleyball was defeated at Florida St. 3-0. The Hokies fell in straight sets in a tough battle in Tallahassee. Libero/defensive specialist Logan Mosley recorded six digs in the match, which moves her up to ninth in school history in career digs (1,242).
 
Saturday, men's golf traveled to Greenville to compete in the Furman Intercollegiate. Tech finished fifth as a team, signing for a 5-over 857 (292-279-286). Senior Daniel Azallion finished tied for third, shooting a 7-under 206 fueled by a team-high 12 birdies. The Hokies led the tournament in pars (170).
 
Men's swimming and dive took the win over Duke on Saturday. The men's team dominated, beating the Blue Devils 199 to 127. The women fell just short 127.5 to 200.5 but swam a time in the 400 free relay that placed them eighth nationally. Junior Youssef Ramadan finished the day with three first place titles, while Junior Emma Atkinson dominated in the backstroke, placing first in the 100 and 200 back.
 
Sunday afternoon, Tech dropped to Miami (Fla.) 3-0 to cap off its four-game road trip. Outside hitter Ava Francis led the team with nine kills, while setter Hanna Borer led the Hokies with 28 assists.
 
On Sunday, women's soccer shut out Syracuse 2-0 in its final regular-season home match. The victory marked the 300th win in the program's history, which was established back in 1993. Midfielder Gabby Johnson and midfielder/defenseman Lauren Gogal netted the goals for the Hokies, while goalie Lauren Hargrove earned her sixth clean sheet of the season.
