New industry-leading technology from Daktronics and Musco will transform the sights and sounds inside Lane Stadium, giving Virginia Tech new ways to amplify iconic traditions, entrances, touchdowns, third downs and the biggest moments of gameday.

Videoboard
The Daktronics videoboard resolution is clearer and will provide a better in-game production for all Hokie fans, regardless of their seat location.

LED Lights
In partnership with Musco, the Virginia Tech Gameday Experience will feature new LED Lights that provide exciting and interactive components to the in-venue production.

Audio
State-of-the-art speakers have been added to the videoboard as well as newly routed audio in concourse locations. Additionally, enhanced audio systems have been installed in premium areas throughout suite and club locations, featuring touchscreen controls for an enhanced and more convenient experience.

Lane Under the Lights
There’s nothing like Lane Stadium under the lights. This season, Hokie Nation gets at least two chances to experience the electric atmosphere of night football, with the home opener against VMI and a Friday night matchup against Pitt. Hokie Village New Food & Entertainment
Hokie Village will continue to feature live music on gamedays. This season, we are excited to welcome a new artist to the lineup – Cody Cozz, a country artist based in Nashville.

In addition to live music on gamedays, new food trucks will be making an appearance at Hokie Village this year. Be on the lookout for Good Dog Vending, Shelly’s Island Cuisine, Sweet Surrender Ice Cream, and Star City Burger Co. throughout the season.

Tailgating Policies Updates & Tailgate Etiquette Reminders
Virginia Tech has updated its campus tailgating generator and tent use guidelines to help improve the tailgating experience for all Hokie fans while promoting a safe and enjoyable gameday environment. Connectivity
Lane Stadium will debut the first phase of cellular connectivity enhancements this fall as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the mobile experience throughout gameday. Additional upgrades are planned following the 2026 season.

Sensory-Friendly Options
This season, sensory headphones are available for rent, and free earplugs are offered to fans who want them - both while supplies are available. Sensory headphones and ear plugs are complimentary, though we ask that headphones are returned by the end of the game. Both items will be available at the Fan Services Booth located on the NW concourse by Section 116 (Gate 6).

ASL National Anthem Performance
We’re proud to offer an American Sign Language (ASL) performance of the national anthem at every home football game this season. Look for Virginia Tech student Justice Hunter on the field during the pregame band show for the live performance. Justice started learning ASL during high school, eventually performing the national anthem at a few of their home football games before arriving at Virginia Tech in fall 2025.

Fan Feedback Opportunities
Postgame surveys will be sent to ticket holders following home matchups, providing an opportunity to share feedback and help improve the overall gameday experience. Feedback will help Virginia Tech Athletics identify opportunities to make real-time adjustments throughout the season and better serve Hokie fans.

Closed Captioning 
The new videoboard layout will continue to include closed captioning, helping provide an accessible experience for all fans.

Out-of-Town Scores
Out-of-town scores will continue to be featured on LED boards throughout the stadium, allowing fans to stay connected to college football games happening across the country.

Single-Game Experiences
Home Opener vs. VMI: Be on the lookout during the first half of the game to participate in the Virginia Tech Hokies 360º Fan Photo! After the game, tag yourself in the photo and purchase a panoramic photo to commemorate your gameday experience.

Friday Night Lights vs. Pitt: LED railing lights will be mounted throughout Lane Stadium to enhance the gameday experience with dynamic lighting elements that complement in-venue production, create added energy throughout the stadium and help bring the atmosphere to life from every seat.

New Concessions Offerings
Introducing “Enter Fryman,” a loaded fry concept with items such as the HokieBird Burner (hot honey chicken, ranch and waffle fries), located by Section 202 of the South Concourse.

Mac & Co., located by Section 107 of the West Concourse, features mac & cheese menu items like the Gobbler Bowl (Jambalaya Mac) and the Blitz Barbacoa Mac.

Chicken and Beef Barbacoa Quesadillas have also been added to the Eat Drink Taco stand by Section 203 in the South Concourse.

Sweet Victory Desserts, located by Gate 3 in the southwest corner, will serve items like the Worsham Waffle – a waffle with strawberry topping, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles.

Smoked Mac Dogs have been added to menus at the BBQ Stands on the south and east concourses. Head towards Section 129 and Section 204 to enjoy these offerings.

Pizza by the slice can now be ordered in the upper east of the stadium concourse by Section 232.

ICEE machines, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic flavors, can be found on the east and south concourses by Section 134 and Section 206.

Three liquor portables (east, south, and west concourses) will offer wine, frozen margaritas, candied orange lemonade vodka, and spicy whiskey mules. Fans can enjoy these options by Section 109, Section 204, and by Gate 1.

Tap 'N Go Technology for Mobile Tickets
Contactless NFC digital ticketing allows fans to use tickets stored in smartphone digital wallets, such as Apple Wallet, and simply tap their phone at venue entry points for fast, secure access. Screenshots will not work. Fans are encouraged to download their mobile tickets before arriving on gameday and to review the Mobile Ticketing landing page for more details.

Parking Lot Adjustments
Virginia Tech Parking Services renumbered a few of the parking lots on campus. The important part: assigned parking locations did not change. The renaming of lots allows athletics and campus partners to create a more consistent and streamlined parking system across campus. View Lane Stadium Parking Information.

Parking Lot Refresh
Select parking lots across campus were resurfaced and repainted, providing a refreshed and improved experience for fans on gameday.

Single-Game Parking Additions
Single-game parking options will be available for every home football game, giving fans more flexibility when planning their gameday experience. Purchase Single-Game Parking.

Gate Entry & Improvements
Gate 2 will feature additional ticket pedestals to help streamline the entry process.

Gate 7 will serve as a student-only general admission entrance, streamlining the entry process for students.

Elevators Enhancements
Select premium-area elevators have been modernized as part of ongoing venue improvements.

Fresh End Zone Padding
New padding has been added to the end zones, providing fresh branding and added safety for student-athletes.

CMG Leasing First Hour Frenzy
Students in the gates during the first hour of pregame may enjoy the CMG Leasing First Hour Frenzy during which they could be selected to win exclusive prizes, access the CMG VIP Area, compete in pregame contests, and attempt the Airedale Kick for Cash during the game.

In-Venue Host Bailey Angle will host contests with the students as part of this first hour special starting 2 hours prior to kickoff and concluding 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

Students looking for pregame tailgate plans can look no further than the Student Tailgate hosted on Dietrick Lawn prior to home games against VMI, Pitt, and Georgia Tech

Hokie Shop Additions
A new, exclusive football edition of the HokieBird logo debuted prior to the start of the season, providing more apparel options for fans. Purchase items from the new collection on Fanatics.

Memorabilia will be available for purchase in the west stands location.

Pledge Per

Familiar Voice, Bigger Role
Virginia Tech Athletics has elevated Evan Hughes to director of broadcasting for the Virginia Tech Sports Network. Hughes will host Hokie football’s pregame and postgame shows, contribute from the sidelines during game broadcasts, serve as the play-by-play voice for men’s basketball and host Tech Talk Live.
