Tech Talk Live set to return for 17th season

Iconic weekly show will return to McClain’s at First & Main, to feature prominent student-athletes and coaches

BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech Athletics and Playfly Sports, the Hokies' multimedia rights partner, announced the fall lineup of Tech Talk Live presented by The Hokie Way Monday morning. 

Tech Talk Live is a weekly show that takes place at McClain’s at First & Main throughout the season and is hosted by Evan Hughes and Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Famer Mike Burnop that features in-depth conversations with Virginia Tech student-athletes, coaches and staff members. 

This year, the show will air from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast across the Virginia Tech Sports Network and its 40+ radio affiliates, which can be found here. It will also air through the free Hokie Sports app. 
 
All broadcasts will be available on the free HokieSports mobile app and posted in podcast form the next day. 

For the first show on August 27, The Hokie Way is putting on a Countdown to Kickoff Bash that will feature Tech Talk Live at 6 p.m. and live music from The Mantra at 8 p.m. In partnership with McClain’s, a percentage of food sales at the event will go toward The Hokie Way’s Hokies for Community initiative and a portion of funds raised will be donated to the Lunch Pail Defense Foundation. Seating begins at 5 p.m.
