RECURRING ACTIVATIONS & OPPORTUNITIES

Maroon & Orange Memories
Elevate your gameday experience by taking advantage of unique behind-the-scenes opportunities and special fan moments at and around Virginia Tech Football home games. Check out Maroon & Orange Memories here, including videoboard messages, pregame photos with HokieBird, sideline experiences, and more. Experiences are available for purchase until three business days prior at 5:00 p.m. ET—Wednesdays for Saturday games—with the exception of videoboard messages which go off-sale one week prior to gameday. 

Effect Games 
Virginia Tech Football is hosting three Effects during the 2025 season: Maroon Effect vs. Vanderbilt on Saturday, Sept. 6; White Effect vs. Wofford on Saturday, Sept. 20; and Orange Effect vs. Wake Forest on Saturday, Oct. 4. Hokie Effect is a program through the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS) that designs and sells spirit shirts for select games at Virginia Tech. The Effect games encourage fans to wear select colors for select games in an effort to showcase school spirit. The purchase of official Effect merchandise helps fund student-athlete initiatives and the USS.

Tickets for Troops
Support our heroes through Virginia Tech's Tickets for Troops initiative by donating in $25 increments—matched by Virginia Tech Athletics—to provide football game tickets to veterans and active-duty service members. To learn more and find out how to donate, click here

Hokie Village
Join us at the nation's best pregame fan fest area, Hokie Village! The fan fest area features live music, food trucks, free photo stations and giveaways, sponsor booths, inflatable activities, and more before every home football game. Admission to Hokie Village is free, with the fan fest area opening 3 hours 30 minutes prior and closing 45 minutes prior to game time. 

March to Victory
Participate in the pregame parade with the Marching Virginians as the Hokies head into Lane Stadium for the game! March to Victory begins at the MV Center (821 Southgate Dr) beyond Lot 5 and travels through Lot 2 before entering through the south side of the stadium. The march begins approximately 90 minutes prior to game time. 

In-Venue Host Bailey Angle
Back for another season, In-Venue Host Bailey Angle will take the field during each home game to keep fans entertained and engaged through every quarter of the action. Students are encouraged to arrive early in Lane Stadium due to the general admission nature of the student section and to join Bailey for pregame contests exclusively for students!

DJ TMMPO
Paris 2024 Summer Olympics USA House DJ and Hokie alum DJ TMMPO is back! DJ TMMPO will keep the fans up and moving with featured hits and Hokie fan favorites all season long. 

Fireworks Shows
New for the 2025 season, Pyro Shows is the proud presenter of all fireworks and special effects at home Virginia Tech Football games. The pyrotechnics company boasts more than 50 years in the industry, providing custom shows for multiple ACC and SEC football partners. 

Pregame & Halftime Band Shows
Be sure to be in your seat 20 minutes prior to game time for the pregame band show! Featuring fan favorites and ceremonial traditions, the pregame show also includes the military salute honor and national anthem with flyovers and pregame demonstrations when possible! 

Pregame Show
Get to your seat at least 30 minutes early to catch the pregame show in Lane Stadium! The starting lineup will be announced first—by the players themselves—followed a few moments later by the "Hokie Pokie" performed by the Marching Virginians. Then, during the Highty-Tighties' pregame show, don't miss your opportunity to welcome our military salute of the game before the national anthem—complemented by flyovers when possible. Then, get ready to start jumping!

Celebrity Stadium Yell
Don't go anywhere during the first quarter break! Join a select Virginia Tech celebrity for the Stadium Yell as the Hokies take the field for the second quarter.

Shout!
You won't want to miss the tradition of Shout! during the third quarter break. Custom-made for each home game with Virginia Tech highlights, fan moments, viral pop culture clips, and more, Shout! is a fun, unforgettable moment for all fans in Lane Stadium. 

Fan Experience Surveys
During four select home games, fans are invited to share feedback through surveys created in partnership with Evolved Experience Solutions. Insights gathered will help guide improvements and elevate the gameday atmosphere for years to come. GAME-BY-GAME ACTIVATIONS

Saturday, Sep. 6 vs. Vanderbilt at 7:30 p.m.
This is Home Opener
Celebrate Lane Stadium, Worsham Field as home of the Hokies during the 2025 home opener! Don't miss featured fan stories, themed activities and contests, as well as tailor-made opportunities and experiences that embrace the "This is Home" mantra. 

Maroon Effect
We're painting Lane maroon for the home opener! Proudly sport your favorite maroon gear in support of the Hokies against Vanderbilt. The official 2025 Effect merchandise may be purchased online here or on gameday at HokieShop locations.

Hokie Village
The free-to-attend fan fest will open at 4:00 p.m. and close at 6:45 p.m. Hokie Village will include inflatables, food trucks, live music from Carrie Brockwell, team autographs with Virginia Tech Softball and Women's Soccer, plus a station where fans may build their own stuffed animals for as low as $15—with the first 100 purchasers receiving a free Virginia Tech shirt for their animals. Sponsors set up in the fan fest area will include Food Lion, U.S. Navy, Carilion Clinic, and Giles County Tourism. 

Ticket Tuesday
Purchasers of the 2025 Ticket Tuesday package for this game may pick up their flag on the upper south concourse by section 508. The pick-up will be available when gates open and will close at the end of the first quarter. 

Military Salute & Flyover
During the Highty-Tighties' pregame show, officially welcome the newest Commandant of the Corps of Cadets, Maj. Gen. William H. Seely III to Lane Stadium! Then, pregame band show will conclude with the national anthem complemented by a U.S. Navy flyover featuring F/A-18 Fighter Jets from VFA-11 (weather permitting). 

Special Guests
Join Hokie Nation in celebrating the Virginia Tech Wrestling program for its 2025 ACC Regular Season and Tournament Titles in Lane Stadium! The team will be recognized on the field during the first half of the game.

Take to Lane Stadium as we celebrate our 540 community! Join us as we highlight what makes the local community so special through local activations, special offers, and more. 

NextGen Hokies Night
Calling all young Hokies! Members of NextGen Hokies—the reimagined Hokie Kids' Club—are invited to Lane Stadium as part of 540 Night to enjoy exclusive giveaways, special experiences, and more. Group Offer: Marching Virginian for a Day
High school band members are invited to Lane Stadium to be a Marching Virginian for a Day! For more information on participating or attending this year's event, check out the MV for a Day page here

Hokie Village
The free-to-attend fan fest will open at 3:30 p.m. and close at 6:15 p.m. Hokie Village will include inflatables, food trucks, live music from Jared Stout Band, axe throwing with 540 Social, and the NIL Pop-Up Shop. Sponsors set up in the fan fest area will also include Drive Smart Virginia and Ford. 

Flyover
The pregame band show will conclude with the national anthem complemented by a U.S. Navy flyover (weather permitting) featuring the Grumman C-2 Greyhound—a twin-engine, high-wing cargo aircraft that is now nearing retirement in its final years of flight.

Student Shakers
Students are encouraged to grab metallic orange shakers from designated bins around the north and east concourses as they cheer on the Hokies under the lights!

Saturday, Sep. 20 vs. Wofford 
Salute to Service Day
During this Virginia Tech Football gameday, we take a moment to celebrate all our heroes, including military service members and guests as well as first responders such as law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs. Join us in celebrating your own heroes this gameday!

White Effect
In partnership with Operation Hat Trick (OHT), we're hosting the White Effect against Wofford! Wear white in support of the Salute to Service theme and purchase the limited edition OHT Effect merchandise once it becomes available in the fall.

Hall of Fame Celebration
Stick around during halftime as we recognize the 2025 Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame inductees. For more details on the 2025 class, check out the release here

Fall Family Weekend

Corps Homecoming

Contracting Ceremony & Flyover
Just before the Highty-Tighties' pregame show and march on, join tens of U.S. Army cadets as they take their oath live on the field. The pregame band show will conclude with the national anthem complemented by a U.S. Air Force flyover (weather permitting) featuring UH-1 Helicopters.

Homecoming
Celebrate Homecoming at Virginia Tech with activities for everyone, culminating in gameday at Lane Stadium! Homecoming festivities begin on Monday, with the Homecoming Parade on Friday night and Alumni Tailgate on Saturday. For more details, visit the Homecoming 2025 page here.

Orange Effect
Break out your favorite orange Hokies gear for Homecoming! Join Hokie Nation in wearing orange with 65,000 others to fill Lane Stadium. The official 2025 Effect merchandise may be purchased online here or on gameday at HokieShop locations.

Highty-Tighties Homecoming
We welcome back alumni of the Highty-Tighties for gameday! Check out the pregame band show that features our alumni band members for Homecoming.

Flyover & Ranger Run
The pregame band show will conclude with the national anthem complemented by a U.S. Navy flyover featuring MH-60 Helicopters from HSC-5. Shortly after the conclusion of the band show, the Ranger Run—a tradition dating back to at least 1977—will conclude its 100-mile journey at midfield with the game ball delivery to the officials.

Celebrating 25 Years of Sandman
Virginia Tech Football fans began jumping in 2000 to create the most iconic entrance in college football. Join us as we celebrate 25 years of "Enter Sandman" under the Friday night lights in Lane Stadium. 

Breast Cancer Awareness
Join the Hokies in showing support for the fighters, survivors, and supporters of those affected by breast cancer in our community. 

Hokie Village
The free-to-attend fan fest will open at 4:00 p.m. and close at 6:45 p.m. Hokie Village will include inflatables, food trucks, live music from Jimmy Mowery, a College Football 26 gaming trailer, and other activities. Sponsors set up in the fan fest area will also include Carter Machinery.

Student Shakers
Students are encouraged to grab metallic orange shakers from designated bins around the north and east concourses as they cheer on the Hokies under the lights! 

Pregame Band Show
For this game only, the bands switch shows! Head into Lane Stadium early as the Marching Virginians perform the pregame show starting approx. 20 minutes prior to game time. Then, enjoy the Highty-Tighties' performance during halftime. 

Pregame Skydiving Show by Team Fastrax
Be sure to find your seat early as the professional skydiving team, Team Fastrax, jumps into Lane Stadium (weather permitting)! Be on the lookout for a special surprise during their demonstration for all of Hokie Nation.

Fall Fest at Lane Stadium
Enjoy the fall season the Hokie way! Make your way to Lane Stadium for a gameday filled with your fall favorites, including fun activities and contests, themed giveaways, seasonal treats, and more as the leaves turn maroon and orange in Blacksburg. 

Hokie Village
The free-to-attend fan fest will open 3.5 hours prior and close 45 minutes prior to game time. Hokie Village will include inflatables, food trucks, live music from Jason Adamo, and other activities. 

Pregame Show by the U.S. Army Golden Knights
Returning to Lane Stadium/Worsham Field for the second consecutive season, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will land inside Lane Stadium during the pregame show (weather permitting). Be sure to get to your seats 30 minutes prior to game time so you don't miss the expert precision and elite skill of this parachute team. 

Ticket Tuesday
Purchasers of the 2025 Ticket Tuesday package for this game may pick up their "This is Home" blanket on the upper south concourse by section 508. The pick-up will be available when gates open and will close at the end of the first quarter.

Senior Day
Celebrate our graduating Hokies during this gameday! More information on the team recognition and other gameday events will be released at a later date. 

Ag Day, presented by Virginia Farm Bureau
Make your way to Lane Stadium for Ag Day as we dive into all things related to agriculture! Presented by Virginia Farm Bureau, the special event includes a petting zoo at Hokie Village, Ag Day facts throughout the game, and more. 

Hokies for the Hungry
Help the Marching Virginians combat hunger in the Southwest Virginia region through Hokies for the Hungry! Partnering with Feeding Southwest Virginia, the Marching Virginians will perform fan favorites through the parking lots and across campus in an effort to raise donations for those in need. Hokie Village

Hokie Village will include inflatables, food trucks, live music from Miller Holler, a petting zoo, and other activities. The pregame band show will conclude with the national anthem complemented by a U.S. Air Force flyover featuring the C-17 Cargo Plane (weather permitting).

Fan Guide

Gameday
All regular season football home games are played at Lane Stadium, Worsham Field (185 Beamer Way). Virginia Tech's clear bag policy is in place for all home games. Please visit the Lane Stadium A-Z Guide for complete details. No outside food or beverage is permitted at Lane Stadium. In addition, fans will proceed through walk-through metal detectors for venue entry. Fans do not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes, or other small objects.
