Hokies collect five medals on day three of the ACC Outdoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Hokies sealed the 2025 ACC Outdoor Championship with a fourth place team finish and five medals on the third day.

Christian Jackson dominated in the men's 800m, shattering the program record, ACC record, ACC Championship meet record and he captured the national lead with his 1:44.83.  The mark ranks No. 20 all-time in the NCAA.  After collecting the bronze medal at the ACC Indoor Championships, Jackson retaliated and captured the gold in the Outdoor Championships.

Nick Plant followed Jackson in the 800m, finishing third overall for the bronze medal, with a new personal-best and No. 3 all-time performance for Virginia Tech of 1:45.99.

Vlad Puchko secured his spot atop the podium in the men's discus, throwing for 60.68m and the silver medal, finishing one spot higher than in his 2024 Outdoor Championship appearance.

Caitlyn Bobb reset the program and Bermuda national record in the 400m that she had set in her prelims outing, besting that record by 0.46 seconds.  She captured the gold medal and individual title by over 0.58 seconds.

Declan Rymer dominated in the 5,000m, posting a career-best time of 13:48.33 for second team All-ACC honors and the No. 5 all-time top 10 performance for Virginia Tech.

The men's 4x400m, consisting of Kersulis, Tillmon, Herenton and Diaby, collected the silver medal with a resounding 3:04.11 for the No. 3 all-time performance for Virginia Tech.  The women's 4x400m, consisting of Daley, Bobb, Price and Butler, scored points with the No. 4 all-time Tech performance of 3:34.70.
