LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday, May 3 competing at the Liberty Twilight Meet in Lynchburg, Va.
Freshman Judson Lincoln IV broke the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex facility record in the men's 400m dash clocking in a time of 45.85 in a brisk 52 degrees. Despite the chill in the air, the Hokies walked away with seven event wins including fellow sprinter Cole Beck winning the 100m with a time of 10.45. Beck placed first in the prelims running a time of 10.24.
Distance runner Antonio Lopez Segura is ranked 45th in the NCAA East Region men's 1500-meters after clocking a season-best time of 3:41.94. Lopez Segura also ranks fourth in the region in the 10,000m and 31st in the 5000m. Grace Boone joins Lopez Segura in the East top 48 list ranked 47th in the women's 800m clocking a season-best time of 2:06.32 finishing first at the Liberty meet.
Senior Essence Henderson claimed two first-place victories competing in both the shot put and discus events. Henderson threw 165'6" (50.45m) in the discus for her first win of the day. In the shot put, Henderson won the event putting 48'11" (14.91m), followed by Katie Seyfang placing second with a mark of 48'10.25" (14.89m).
Jumper Blanco Molualisi sits 11th in the ACC jumping a season-best distance of 48'7.5" (14.82m) in the triple jump.

The Hokies outdoor championship season kickoffs on May 11 -13 in Raleigh, N.C. competing at the ACC Championships. Hokies will then wait two weeks to compete at the East Regionals on May 24 - 27 in Jacksonville, Fla. Tech currently has 40 qualifying times/marks and two relay teams ranked within the top 48 in the East Region. Athletes accepted into the preliminary meet will be announced by 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 18.
