Tim Clark is in his eighth season at Virginia Tech and enters his second as senior director, chief of staff in 2023-24. The program's director of operations from 2016-2022, Clark was elevated in the summer of 2022 to his current title.
Clark assists the coaching staff by directing all day-to-day operations, game schedule prospecting, contract management, coordinating team travel logistics, overseeing the program's budget and developing the Hokie Hardwood Club community.
During his tenure with the Hokies, Clark has been a part of three NCAA Tournament and three WNIT teams, serving as the team administrator for all of those appearances. He also served as the main point of contact with the NCAA staff for the 2023 Hokies Final Four appearance in Dallas after their Seattle Regional Championship victory by managing team travel logistics and administrative communication duties for a travel party of over 200.
The Midlothian, Virginia native has worked with Head Coach Kenny Brooks for over 18 years – since 2005 when he was a student manager at James Madison University. He has previously had a variety of roles in the JMU women’s basketball program including director of operations, graduate assistant, and head team manager. He also completed an internship and coaching education practicum with the Dukes' women’s basketball program. Clark was a part of five CAA Championship teams while at JMU and has participated in the postseason all 17 seasons one has been held since his first season with Brooks in 2005-06.
Clark received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in sport & recreation management from JMU in 2009. He completed his Master’s at JMU in kinesiology with a concentration in sport & recreation leadership in 2011.
