Now in its 50th season, the Virginia Tech women's basketball program boasts a proud history of achievement, raising banners for numerous conference championships and honoring legends of the game.
In recent years, the Hokies' program has become synonymous with success on account of four consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournamenet, an ACC regular-season crown and the magical 2023 season that saw the Hokies hoist the ACC tournament trophy, receive a number one seed and advance to the program's first ever NCAA Final Four.

Head coach Megan Duffy completed her first season at the helm in 2025. Her first season in Blacksburg yielded a postseason appearance and was marked by relentless growth for many of the athletes who produced the best seasons of their collegiate careers.
In March of 2023, the program made history day after day, as the Hokies clinched a double bye at the ACC tournament, won that competition for the first time, captured a one seed in the NCAA tournament and advanced to the Final Four in Dallas.
Program alums have flourished at the professional and international level, with the likes of Aisha Sheppard winning a WNBA title and Sami Hill competing for Canada in the 2024 Olympics.
