In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Cassell Coliseum provides a safe and enjoyable event experience for all patrons.
Tickets
If you are a person with a disability and desire special accommodations, please notify the ticket office well in advance of the game at (540) 231-6731 or 1-800-VA TECH-4 (800-828-3244).
Admission
For basketball and post-season events, all fans entering Cassell Coliseum regardless of age must have a valid ticket to gain admission to the arena. Once fans enter the arena, they may not exit and re-enter.
For regular season volleyball and wrestling, there is no admission charge.
Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic beverages are sold at designated concession stands throughout Lane Stadium. Alcohol policies are as follows:
- Underage drinking is prohibited.
- Patrons must provide a valid ID to purcahse alchohol, regardless of age. Patrions with an out-of-state license may be asked to provide a second form of identification.
- There is a two (2) drink maximum per identification, per transaction.
- Patrons under the age of 21 found in possession of alcohol will be reported to the police.
- Patrons who are consuming alcohol and appear to be under the age of 21 must be prepared to show proper identification. If proper identification cannot be provided upon request, patrons will be reported to the police.
- Patrons who are supplying alcohol to underage guest(s) will be reported to the police.
- Patrons may be refused purchase at the discretion of concessionaire, police, stadium personnel or event staff.
- No refunds will be offered for confiscated beverages.
- Patrons are not permitted to leave the stadium with alcoholic beverages.
- Alcoholic beverage sales will end at:
- Men's Basketball: 10:00 remaining in the second half.
- Women's Basketball: End of the third quarter.
- Wrestling: After the seventh match.
- All concession stands are cashless and only credit cards, debit cards or Apple Pay/Google Pay will be accepted.
Announcements and Paging
Announcements and paging will not be made unless there is an emergency. Please contact the nearest event staff member or police officer.
ATMs
Cassell Coliseum is a cashless arena and does not have ATM machines.
Bag Policy
All guests will be subject to a search of their person and possessions prior to entering the stadium. All permissible bags, per the policy of the event, will be permitted into the arena after a thorough inspection by a security representative. Guests should be prepared to open their bags for inspection and may be asked by a security representative to shift and possibly remove the contents.
Cassell Coliseum strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags to the arena. The arena allows only certain types and sizes of personal bags or containers into the arena, including:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags that are 4.5" x 1” x 6.5" without a handle or strap may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items in clear bags after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
Prohibited bags include purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs (any type including crossbody or belt bags with straps), cinch bags, luggage of any kind, seat cushions, strollers, computer bags and camera bags, diaper bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size. All bags that exceed the arena's bag policy must be either taken back to your vehicle or disposed of. Any bags found outside the arena may be collected and discarded.
Banners, Signs and Flags
Banners, signs and flags are not permitted in Cassell Coliseum.
Cameras / Electronic Device Policy
Guests are welcome to bring cameras without a detachable lens into the stadium for personal use only. Guests will not be permitted to bring any hard-sided cases into the stadium. Commercial use of photos without the express written consent of Virginia Tech Athletics is prohibited.
Guests are not permitted to stand in the aisles while using cameras. Guests should not obstruct the views of others while taking pictures. Arena Management reserves the right to remove any guests that do not cooperate with this policy.
Guests are prohibited from transmitting or aiding in the transmission of any information, including but not limited to, any account, description, picture, video, audio, reproduction or other information, about the game or event and any entertainment, attractions, warm-ups, practices, pre-game, post-game or between-action activities, promotions or competitions offered in connection with the game or event. The Stadium, Teams, Leagues and/or Event Promoter, and their respective assignees or affiliates are the exclusive owners of all copyrights and other proprietary rights in the game or event.
Cashless
Cassell Coliseum only accepts cards and contactless payment including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Code of Conduct
Cassell Coliseum's Code of Conduct was developed for all guests attending to enjoy their experience and act responsibly. Any guest in violation of these rules will be subject to ejection without refund. Unruly behavior will not be tolerated. These rules include but are not limited to:
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Underage drinking
- Actions that are harmful to or endanger others
- Throwing items of any kind
- Using foul or abusive language and/or gestures
- Displaying inconsiderate behavior toward others
- Disorderly conduct
- Smoking in non-designated areas (see Smoking/Vaping Policy)
- Sitting or standing in the aisleways
- Entering or attempting to enter the playing surface
- Failure to follow instructions of arena personnel
- Entering the arena with any prohibited items
- Accessing Cassell Coliseum without a ticket
Concessions
A variety of concession stands will be open. ID Policy: for alcohol purchase (21+), identification must be valid (not expired) and show: date of birth, signature and a photograph.
Entrances
We highly encourage all guests to arrive early. Please allow extra time for the magnetometer screening, bag checks and ticket scanning.
To expedite your entry process, please ensure your ticket is downloaded on your phone before arriving to the ticket scanning pedestal. All pedestals are self-scan. For any customer service needs, the box office (main lobby off Washington Street) will open two hours before game time.
First Aid Rooms
A first aid station is available outside of section 118 in the concourse. Fans can ask for assistance from the rescue squad members stationed at various portals around the stadium. Event staff members are available to help in locating first aid assistance.
Game Day Ticket Problems and Will Call
Patrons with ticket issues who purchased their tickets through the Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office should visit the Will Call (ticket office) window in the main lobby off Washington Street. The ticket office opens two (2) hours before kickoff. Patrons who purchased tickets on the secondary market or through private individuals will need to reach out to the seller if they are experiencing ticket concerns.
The Athletics Ticket Office is located in the main lobby off Washington Street.
Public Will Call, Player Guest, Recruit Will Call, and Visiting Team Will Call are located in the main lobby. Will Call opens two (2) hours prior to game time and remains open through the end of the first half. ID is required.
If available, game day tickets are on sale at the arena 90 minutes prior to the game. If available, future game tickets are sold at the ticket office in the main lobby.
General Ticket Information
Every person must have a ticket, including infants.
Times and dates of games are subject to change.
All ticket sales for events in Cassell Coliseum are cashless, so please bring a credit or debit card.
The athletics ticket office is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen or mailed to a second party. No refunds or exchanges are permitted if the game is played.
If you are a person with a disability and desire special accommodations, you must notify the ticket office well in advance of the game. Due to demand for ADA accommodations, a copy of your current dated DMV paperwork or hang tag displaying your name and motor vehicle assigned number is required at the time of your order.

Gates
All gates open 90 minutes prior to tip-off for men's & women's basketball and 60 minutes prior to the start of wrestling and volleyball.
Hokie Club Parking (for men's & women's basketball)
Designated parking lots on campus are reserved for Hokie Club members on basketball game days (see parking guide). Parking in these lots requires a valid parking pass that is mailed before the beginning of the season to qualifying Hokie Club members. Opportunities to purchase a season parking pass for home basketball games is a benefit of Hokie Club membership and all parking passes are assigned according to the Hokie Club Point Priority System. Hokie Club members are limited to one parking pass per membership.
Lost and Found
Lost and found will be operated in the tunnell area of Cassell Coliseum. Items can be claimed following the game and items not claimed will be kept until the end of the season. To contact lost and found throughout the season (not available on game days), contact one of the following departments: Game Operations: (540) 231-6728 or Virginia Tech Police Department: (540) 231-6411.

Metal Detectors
As part of Virginia Tech’s commitment to ensuring the safety of and providing a secure environment for all attendees, walk-through metal detectors will be implemented at all entrances at Cassell Coliseum. This is a common practice at many major sports and event venues across the country. Fans are asked to follow the guidance provided from security screening personnel. Touchless walk-through metal detectors will be used at all Cassell Coliseum gates. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned for venue entry. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. Please proceed through the detectors at a normal pace. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear. Those who have prohibited items will have to dispose of them or return those items to their cars before entering the facility.
Merchandise
A souvenir store - HokieShop - is located in the concourse behind section 116. All transactions are cashless.
Mobile Tickets

Prohibited & Permitted Items
All persons entering the stadium are subject to search. To protect the safety of our patrons, players, officials, artists, and staff, the following items are prohibited. Prohibited items will not be accepted at the stadium entrances for safekeeping.

- Coolers/Containers/Bags (unless medical supplies)
- Purses
- Fireworks / Explosive / Weapons (including guns and pocket knives with blades longer than 4")
- Illegal drugs; follows state and campus guidelines
- Laser pointers
- Noisemakers (horns, whistles, cow bells, turkey calls, etc.)
- Outside food or beverage
- Pets (except service animals with documentation)
- Signs, flags, banners
- Smoking/Vaping
- Strollers
- Umbrellas
- Unmanned aircraft (drones)
PERMITTED ITEMS
The following items are permitted inside the venue:
- Binoculars and cameras (without case and/or detachable lens)

Public Parking
On-Campus Parking
Virginia Tech Parking Services is implementing a change to their on-campus parking policy to more effectively manage parking for the growing population of permit holders who engage in university activities after traditional business hours as well as to be equitable to all that use the service. On-campus parking lots are metered until 10 p.m., Monday-Friday. Visitors to Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus will now need to pay to park on campus using one of three options:
- ParkMobile App available
- Go online to buy a daily permit
- Visit the Parking Services office at 505 Beamer Way between 7am and 5pm to purchase a daily permit

Request for Assistance
All requests for assistance and reports of discourtesy should be directed to arena ushers. Personnel are positioned at each portal throughout the arena for convenience.
If issues with unruly fans or disruptive behavior occur, you can access the "Fan Assistance Hotline." Text (540) 739-0089.
Restrooms
Restrooms for men and women are located in the concourse and can be reached by exiting any portal.
Family/Special Needs restrooms are located in the following locations: Outside sections 107 & 112. All restrooms are equipped with diaper changing stations.

Security Screening
To ensure a safe environment for the public, fans, employees, teams, artists and contractors entering Cassell Coliseum are submit to search and screening protocols that are in place. Please cooperate fully with the staff to ensure a smooth entry. Cassell Coliseum security personnel and management reserve the right to confiscate items that may cause damage to the facility, endanger guests or disrupt the event. Guests who violate the policy or decline to be searched may be denied entry or ejected from the arena.

Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Fans having issues with ticket scanning should visit the Virginia Tech Athletic Ticket Office located in the front lobby off Washington St. for assistance. Customers assume all risks for tickets purchased through a source other than Virginia Tech.
