WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - In the first day of the 2025 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Lyndsey Reed collected her first ACC individual title in the women's pole vault.
Mariana Pestana opened podium action for the Hokies with her personal-best hammer throw of 66.14m for the bronze. Pestana now ranks No. 4 all-time for Virginia Tech in the event.
Lyndsey Reed captured the ACC individual title in the women's pole vault, reaching a personal-best 4.42m height in the contest. Julia Fixsen followed Reed on the podium, collecting the bronze with her 4.32m vault for her sixth consecutive ACC Championship podium finish.
Nate Paris dominated in day one of the decathlon, winning two of the five events and placing top three in four of the five. Paris looks to continue the momentum in day two after accumulating three personal-best performances in day one. His 7.40m is good for the No. 8 all-time top performance for Virginia Tech.
Kahleje "KJ" Tillmon and Ali Diaby both posted sub-21.00 results in the 200m prelims to advance to the final on Saturday afternoon. Tillmon was the ACC champion in the event during the 2022 outdoor season and is looking to repeat.
Lukas Baroke scored points for the Hokies and claimed second team All-ACC honors in the hammer throw, reaching a personal-best distance of 65.04m to elevate his standing as the No. 10 all-time top performer in Virginia Tech history.
An additional point-scorer for the Hokies was Nicholas Kipchirchir in the men's 10,000m, landing an eighth-place finish in a field of 44 with his 29:16.63.
