BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's and women's track and field teams continued to impress at the Hokie Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20 claiming nine spots in the conference's top 10 events list. 

Hokies swept the men's high jump with EJ Bell and Aidan Clark clearing 7" 0.25" (2.14m), ranked third in the ACC. Bell was awarded first place clearing the bar on his first attempt, Clark took second clearing on his second attempt. 

Brandon Burke earned third clearing a season-best height of 6' 10.25" (2.09m). 

Senior Victoria Gorlova ranks 11th in the nation after finishing first in the women's triple jump with a distance of 42' 10.25" (13.06m). Gorlova's season-best mark ranks third in the conference. 
Cierra Pyles placed fifth with a mark of 39' 11.50" (12.18m). 

In the men's triple jump, Aidan Clark ranks fourth in the ACC jumping 49' 11.25" (15.22m) on his last attempt of the day. Clark finished second among collegiate athletes on his first attempt at the triple jump in college. Altan Mitchell finishing sixth at 49' 2.50" (15.00m). 

Pole Vault
Conner McClure notched his first win of the season, among collegiate athletes, clearing a season-best height of 17' 7" (5.36m). McClure is placed 11th in the NCAA and first in the ACC. Maddox Hamm sits second in the conference after clearing a personal-best height of 17' 2.75" (5.25m). 

Junior Journey Gurley joined the NCAA top 20 list clearing a season-best height of 13' 9" (4.19m), placing third among collegiate athletes. Gurley's height moved her into first in the ACC with one month to go until conference championships. 

Sprints
 Sophomore Judson Lincoln IV declared the top mark in the ACC 200m clocking a time of 21.06, finishing first. Lincoln's time ranks 16th in the NCAA. KJ Tillmon finished first in heat one of the men's 200m with a time of 21.39, third overall. Amir Green and Maximus James both crossed the line first in their heats with Green finishing seventh (22.02) and James 10th (22.23). 

KJ Tillmon, Maximus James, Amir Green, and Evan Taylor closed out the meet finishing fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:18.26. 

Throws
 On her final attempt of the day, Katie Seyfang moved into fifth putting 49' 10.50" (15.20m) in the women's shot put. Seyfang's season-best mark ranks fifth in the conference.

The Virginia Tech pole vault team will travel to University Park, Pa. compete at the Penn State National Open on Jan. 26 - 27.
