After a stellar weekend in Philadelphia, No. 31 Connor Brady earns ACC Wrestler of the Week for the third time in a row. The redshirt sophomore defeated three ranked opponents on his way to a Keystone Classic title.
Three members of the Virginia Tech volleyball team were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. Cera Powell, Logan Mosley and Anabel Zier were recognized for their performance on the court and in the classroom.
Sixth-year senior Silas Dsanzi has been invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which will be played on Jan. 28 in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
To kick off its two-game trip to the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship, women's basketball powered past Kentucky in an 82-74 win on Monday. The Hokies had four players score in double figures, led by senior Elizabeth Kitley, who notched a 25-point, 13-rebound double-double.
Tech leaves Bahamas undefeated after a 73-57 win over Missouri on Wednesday. The Hokies were backed by a 26-point showing from the bench. Senior Kayana Traylor led the team with an 18-point performance.
Volleyball fell to Notre Dame in a 3-1 loss on Friday at Cassell Coliseum. Tech finishes its 2022 season 11-18 overall and 4-14 in ACC action.
In its first game back at home in almost two weeks, men's basketball defeated Charleston Southern 69-64 on Friday. Despite having their lowest shooting percentage of the season, the Hokies were able to push through, backed by four players scoring in double-digits.
On Sunday, women's basketball stayed undefeated after a dominating 89-28 win over Longwood. Kitley and Traylor led the way, with both recording double-doubles in the victory. Tech was very productive from deep, making 10 3s off 28 attempts, all while holding Longwood to only 16.7 percent from behind the arc.
Senior Nick Gallo has been named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Football Team, as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Former defensive back DeAngelo Hall, will be inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023. The Chesapeake, Virginia native earned a bevy of awards during his time from 2001-03 and will be adding the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame to his already impressive résumé.
