BLACKSBURG – Three weeks into the 2022-2023 wrestling season, three weeks in a row a Hokie has been tabbed ACC Wrestler of the Week. Joining the party this week is redshirt sophomore 165-pounder No. 31 Connor Brady after his stellar weekend in Philadelphia as he defeated three ranked opponents to capture a Keystone Classic title.
The day belonged to Brady who navigated a nationally ranked field en route to his first tournament title of the season. Brady picked up five victories on Sunday with three wins over higher ranked opponents in No. 25 Will Formato of App State (5-2), Penn's No. 19 Lucas Revano (3-1 SV), and No. 20 Evan Barczak from Drexel (5-3).
Brady also collected bonus point wins in his preliminary rounds over Drexel's Cody Walsh 13-5 and a major decision over Gabe Miller of Pennsylvania 12-4 to help add to Tech's Keystone Classic team title.
Virginia Tech returns to action next week at the prestigious Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on December 2-3.
