Summiel started 17 times for the Hokies at forward averaging 3.7 points and 7.1 rebounds on the season. She scored in double figures five times including an 18-point effort at Rutgers that featured a perfect 4-for-4 day from beyond the arc. Summiel recorded three double-doubles on the season and had an 18-rebound game against Notre Dame in the ACC tournament, a career high.

Prior to Tech (Wake Forest)

  • Summiel joins the Hokies as a graduate student after a four-year career at ACC rival Wake Forest. For her career she has started 60 of 102 games played, averaging 5.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. She shoots it at nearly 40% for her career and 34% from beyond the arc, connecting on 70 triples in her career.
  • This past season in Winston-Salem, she started all 33 contests, averaging a career-high 7.4 points per game, while grabbing 5.6 rebounds. She posted 11 games in double figures, with a high of 14 points (5-11 FG) vs. Miami in February.
  • Summiel is heavily involved in SAAS (student-athlete advisory committee) at the campus, conference and nation level where she is a Division 1 rep. At the 2023 Final Four in Dallas, she sat next to and conversed with First Lady Jill Biden and other prominent women’s leaders.

 
High School

  • Ranked 26th in Connecticut by MaxPreps…Ranked 24th in Northeast Girls Recruiting…Won USA Today 1st-team Connecticut honors in 2018 and 2019…Averaged a double-double for her career at Marianapolis Preparatory School…two-time team captain…has been named a Class A All-Conference first team honoree three times…earned the Outstanding Player Award for her team in each of her last two seasons…helped guide her team to the 2016-17 NEPSAC Class A championship title as well as tournament MVP honors… Averaged 15.6 points and 14.4 rebounds per game her junior year…On February 8th, in a game against New Hampton, she scored her 1,000th high school point, becoming the eighth player in Marianapolis history to do so…Has been playing basketball since the third grade and began playing AAU in the sixth grade. She joined the Marianapolis girls’ varsity team her freshman year...Majoring in Business and Enterprise Management with a concentration in Sports Management.
  • Two-time conference champion in the shot put…also competed in volleyball and strength & conditioning.
