Abby Daniels joined the Hokies in June 2016 as the Assistant to the Head Coach. Daniels is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the women’s basketball office including clerical work, data entry, processing reimbursement paperwork and budget management.
Daniels attended Bridgewater College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Art. While at Bridgewater, Daniels played on the inaugural women’s golf team and was the first ever alum of the program. Daniels also served as the operations intern for the football team all four years. Some of her responsibilities included; equipment, travel operations, recruiting operations, and game day activities. Throughout her four years she also served as the home women’s basketball videographer.
During her senior year in college she was offered a one-year internship with the Virginia State Golf Association in Midlothian, Virginia. At the VSGA she was able to travel to several tournaments and assist the staff with various administrative and operational responsibilities. She also had office tasks that included clerical work and tournament preparation. Daniels played a big part in the VSGA Scholarship process. She assisted with all of the applications and all logistics leading up to the announcement of recipients. She also had a hand in preparing for the First Annual Virginia Golf Hall of Fame.
Daniels grew up in nearby Roanoke, Virginia where she attended Cave Spring High School and played basketball for two years.
