Freelon, from Denver, Colorado played for three seasons at Texas Tech where she averaged 5.01 points and 4.25 rebounds in her 95 games in Lubbock, where she started 43 of them.
This past season, she started 17 of the Lady Raiders’ 36 contests when they advanced to the quarterfinals of the WBIT after defeating the Hokies at Cassell. In the contest against Tech, Freelon posted seven points, six rebounds, two steals and a block and assist apiece in 29 minutes on the floor.
A career 50% shooter from the floor, in her junior season she set a career best at better than 55%.
Freelon owns four career double-doubles and has posted a single game high of 16 points and 13 rebounds.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Kilah Freelon has seen successes on the hardwood and on the track as a two-time varsity basketball letterman and a three-time track and field letter earner
- Freelon helped lead Mullen High School to three 4A state titles in basketball, picking up Honorable Mention All-League honors along the way
- She averaged 5.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals and 1.0 assists per game.
PERSONAL
- Kilah was born on Apr. 27, 2004, to Ronnette Rosborough and Steve Freelon
- She has three siblings: Steve, Nevaeh and Kayla
- Outside of athletics, Freelon spent time as a manager for her high school football team and was involved in the black and Latino multicultural club
- Plans to major in Kinesiology with hopes of playing in the WNBA or becoming an athletic trainer or physical therapist.
