Aniya Trent Season 2026-27

2025-26 (FRESHMAN)
• Played in 29 games, logging 286 total minutes, while shooting 63.2 percent from the floor
• Recorded her first collegiate stats with five rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal in 10 minutes versus Towson on Nov. 4
• Dominant off the bench against Florida (Dec. 4) with seven points and five rebounds
• Totaled a career-high nine points on 67 percent shooting from the floor versus Presbyterian on Dec. 10
• Grabbed seven rebounds in back-to-back games (Dec. 14-18), a then career-best and again against Miami (Jan. 1)
• Swatted away three shots to match her career-best for the third time this season while pulling down four rebounds against Virginia (Feb. 1)
• Pulled down eight rebounds, a personal best, versus Georgia Tech on Feb. 22

WHY VIRGINIA TECH
• Chose Virginia Tech because she loved every bit about it; coaches, teammates, and academics

PREP
• Attended Springboro High School where she was a four-year letter winner and led her team to back-to-back state championship appearances (2024, 2025)
• Holds the all-time blocked shots and consecutive games played records
• Recorded 700+ rebounds and 220+ blocks during her time with the Panthers
• Was honored as All-State, All-District, and All-Conference
• Also earned a letter at Springboro in volleyball as a right side hitter
• In the classroom, earned GWOC All-Academic recognition

CLUB
• Competed with West Virginia Thunder for two years
• Had a dynamic final season of AAU, winning the Under Armour National Championship

PERSONAL
• Daughter of Jaclyn and Michael Trent
• Her mom played volleyball at Kentucky
• Has two older brothers, Xavier and Kahleel, and a younger sister, Gabriele
• Kahleel played football at Whittenberg
• Majoring in Criminology
• Aspires to be an investigator, be in the FBI, or a coach
• Chose the number 30 because number three was her mom’s number in college so her family has always incorporated it
• Enjoys cooking, hanging out with her best friend, and shopping when not competing
• Emulates her game after Aliyah Boston
