Graduate Assistant
Joined Virginia Tech men’s basketball staff: 2020 and enters his second year with the program as a graduate assistant.

With the Hokies: Wagenlander is responsible for assisting with on-court workouts, player development, video duties and day-to-day operations.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Wagenlander comes to Tech after a two-year stint at JMU, working as the director of operations for men’s basketball in 2019-20 after being promoted from video coordinator in 2018-19. He oversaw the Dukes' travel and meal plans during the season, while also coordinating the program’s youth camps, recruiting visits and other operation duties across departments in the ops role, and was in charge of scouting and providing analysis on offensive play calling in his video coordinator role.

Before his time in Harrisonburg, Wagenlander was a video coordinator at Charleston Southern during the 2017-18 season for the men’s basketball team, running the entirety of the film operation for the Buccaneers, while also assisting with scouting, recruiting duties and other tasks required by the coaching staff.

Prior to CSU, he was a four-year letterwinner at Wofford under Mike Young, helping the Terriers to back-to-back Southern Conference titles in 2014 and 2015 before serving as team captain as a senior and representing Wofford as its “Senior Ambassador” in 2017-18. He was awarded “Best Motivator Award” for all student-athletes at Wofford, and was on Wofford’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Personal: A native of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Wagenlander resides in Blacksburg.
