2018-19: Came in the final seconds and got a rebound versus Saint Louis in the first round of the NCAA Tournament … Played one minute off the bench versus No. 12/13 Florida State in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament … Hit a 3-pointer, pulled down two rebounds and swatted a shot against Miami (Fla.) in the second round of the ACC Tournament … Played five minutes off the bench versus Miami (Fla.) … Grabbed a rebound in his minute of action off the bench versus No. 3/2 Duke … Came off the bench at Notre Dame and played two minutes, swiping his second steal in an ACC game … Played nine minutes off the bench against No. 3/3 Virginia, turning in an old school three-point play, making his first free throw in league play, to have three points and a rebound … Tied a career-high and scored an ACC-high six points at Pitt, while collecting ACC highs in three categories – two rebounds, one assist and a steal in his second-most minutes of the season with 13 … Played eight minutes off the bench at Clemson, hitting a 3-pointer for his first triple in league play … Came in for one minute off the bench against No. 16/17 Louisville … Totaled five minutes off the bench and grabbed a board at No. 23/22 NC State … Scored his first points in ACC action, coming off the bench in the final minute and making a layup versus Syracuse … Played in his first league game against Wake Forest … Racked up a career-high six points and made his first collegiate free throw versus Maryland-Eastern Shore … Made his first two-pointer and swiped his first steal for the Hokies against South Carolina State … Hit his second triple of the season versus VMI … Scored his first points as a Hokie against Central Connecticut State, nailing a 3-pointer … Put up his first shot as a Hokie, a 3-pointer that was no good versus St. Francis (Pa.) ... Played versus Ball State and Northeastern, grabbing a career-high two rebounds versus the Huskies ... Played in the season opener against Gardner-Webb, earning his first assist.

High School: Attended Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut first semester as a senior, then transferred to Thornlea Secondary in Toronto for second semester … Spent three seasons at Huntington Prep in Huntington, West Virginia … Played for the Canadian U16 National team his freshmen season … Won the All-USA Performance of the Week (USAToday.com) while scoring 42 points in a game his freshman year at Huntington Prep.
 
Personal: Jonathan Kabongo … Son of Nene and Touré Kabongo … Has five siblings … His older brother, Myck, played two seasons at Texas and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention … Older sister, Vanessa, played collegiately at Delaware ... Plans to major in creative writing.
