Shannon Lewis

Assistant to the Head Coach

Responsibilities: Lewis was promoted to executive assistant to the head coach in 2022. In this role, she provides administrative support to Coach Pry including managing his daily schedule, speaking engagements, recruitment travel, autograph and donation requests and serving as liaison to the Hokie Club and human resources. Additionally, Lewis is the program’s primary contact for student-athlete’s parents, assists in special events such as Senior Day, bowl planning and summer football camps.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2016

Prior to Virginia Tech: Lewis was an assistant women's soccer coach at East Carolina University from 2005-2014 and was also a Sales Manager for Stateson Homes.

Education: North Carolina Wesleyan College, B.A. English (2002) and Marshall University M.A. Public Relations (2005).

Of Note: Played collegiate soccer at North Carolina Wesleyan College where she was a four year starter and two-time team captain. Lewis earned Conference Rookie of the Year (1998), 4x First Team All-Conference Selection, 3x Regional All American Selection, 4x Conference Champion, 3x NCAA Tournament Participant (1999 Elite Eight), and holds NSCAA Coaching License and USSF 'D' License. Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (American Red Cross).

Personal: Lewis grew up in Newtown, PA, and currently lives in Blacksburg, VA. She is married to VT Director of Equipment Services, Erik Lewis. The couple has two daughters; Gwen (4) and Merryn (2). A self-described "sports enthusiast" she loves running/working out, and reading.
