Hokie Effect is a program through the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS) that designs and sells spirit shirts for football and basketball games at Virginia Tech. The Hokie Effect games encourage fans to wear a certain color in order to show school spirit and create a blanketed color effect throughout the stadium. The best way to do this is to wear the Hokie Effect t-shirt designed specifically for that game.

The purchase of a single Hokie Effect shirt helps fund student-athlete initiatives, undergraduate student government, and for the 2026-27 academic years, the Student Emergency Fund.

Hokie Nation will once again be able to purchase exclusive experiences to enhance their gameday through Maroon & Orange Memories.
