CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Virginia Tech men's and women's track field teams closed out the four meet weekend on Saturday as Aidan Clark moved into 14th in the NCAA in high jump.
Clark cleared a season-best height of 7' 0.5" (2.15m) on his second attempt at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, finishing second. Senior EJ Bell placed third clearing 6' 11.5" (2.12m) and Brandon Burke fifth at 6' 9.5" (2.07m).
Freshman Gabe Norton finished fifth in the triple jump among collegiate athletes with a mark of 46' 6" (14.17m). Assistant coach Chauncey Chambers placed sixth overall jumping 50' 5.25" (15.37m).
Colonial Relays
Tech dominate the distance medley relay in Williamsburg, Va. winning both the men's and women's race. Hannah Ballowe, Star Price, Avery Legault, and Elizabeth Coe won the women's DMR with a time of 11:35.70. In the men's race, Ethan Mills, Dylan DeCambre, William Winter, and Nick Plant crossed the finish line first with a time of 9:55.50.
VertKlasse Meet
Journey Gurley placed fifth among collegiate athletes in the women's pole vault clearing 13' 7.75m" (4.16m) in Williamsburg, Va. Kennedy Drish and Erin Kelleher placed seventh (13' 3.75" (4.06m)) and eighth (12' 10" (3.91m), respectively.
Freshman Jack Helmich claimed third among college athletes in the men's pole vault clearing the bar at 15' 11.25" (4.86m) on his first attempt. Joey Badalamenti was awarded fifth clearing 15' 11.25" (4.86m) on his third attempt.
Tennessee Invite
Freshman Lukas Baroke finished fourth in hammer at the Tennessee Invite in Knoxville, Tenn. throwing a personal-best distance of 203' 03" (61.97m).
