Hokies finish NCAA Indoor Championships with six First Team All-Americans

Results Day One Recap

BOSTON, Mass. – The 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday at the TRACK at new balance with Virginia Tech tallying six First-Team All-American honors.  
Sophomore Judson Lincoln IV finished third in the men's 400m clocking in a time of 45.57.
 
"We are all immeasurably proud of Judson's daily commitment to his craft, poised execution through the rounds, and representation of the Hokie community on the NCAA's largest stage," said assistant coach Alan Dunson. "The anticipation is high for what his future holes this upcoming Outdoor season."
 
Heading into the final turn in heat two, Lincoln made his way to the front of the group in the final 40 meters to finish first in his heat. He heads back to Blacksburg with his first career All-American honors.
 
In the men's 800m, sophomore Nick Plant crossed the finish line fourth with a time of 1:47.75. Plant received First-Team All-American honors finishing within the top-eight of the individual event. Senior Lindsey Butler finished seventh in the women's 800m clocking in a season-best time of 2:02.39.
 
Victoria Gorlova earned First Team All-American accolades in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 44' 9.50" (13.65m) in the fifth round, finishing fourth.
 
On day one, Conner McClure cleared a personal-best height of 18' 2.50" (5.55m) on his first attempt finishing third in his first NCAA Championship appearance. Junior Sara Killinen earned her second First Team All-American honors finishing eighth in the weight throw with a third round throw of 70' 7.75" (21.53m).
 
Sean Murphy finished day two of the heptathlon finishing 13th with 4951 points. Murphy earned Second Team All-American honors as one of the top 16 heptathlon athletes in the nation.
 
The Hokies men's team finished tied for 12th with Nebraska at 17 points. Texas Tech won the men's team award with 50.5 points. The women's team placed tied for 26th with eight points, as the Arkansas Razorbacks claimed the team victory with 55 points.
