KEEP AN EYE OUT

Both the men and women went up in the latest CSCAA poll. The men rose from 13th to 12th, and the women rose from 23rd to 22nd. These are the Hokies' highest rankings of the season.

Last year at ACCs, the Hokie women took seventh place with 636 points, and the men took third with 1,054 points. The Hokies are looking to make even more top 10 times and finish with more record-breaking swims to top last year's performance.

Backstrokers Emma Atkinson and Carmen Weiler Sastre are currently ranked in the top 15 times in the country in the 200 back. Madelyn Moore, Weiler Sastre, Emily Claesson, and Caroline Bentz hold the 15th spot in the country in the 200 free relay, swam during the Virginia Tech Invitational last week. Weiler Sastre, Claesson, Fanni Gyurinovics, and Moore hold the 13th spot in the 400 free relay, swam earlier in the season during the Ohio State Invitational. The women are looking to top those times and finish strong during ACCs.

Youssef Ramadan holds the top time in the country in the 100 fly swam during the Virginia Tech Invitational. He also holds the eighth spot in the men's 50 free and 100 free. Teammate Carles Coll Marti is fifth in the nation in the 200 IM and looking to top his nationally-ranked time. The men hold some of the top relay times in the country, with both the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay in the top 10 times in the country. The relay team of Forest Webb, Coll Marti, Ramadan and Luis Dominguez are in the top 15 times in the country in the 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay.

COMMONWEALTH CLASH

The Commonwealth Clash is a friendly, statewide rivalry between Virginia and Virginia Tech and their school-sponsored sports. The school that accumulates 11.5 points or more has been annually crowned the winner and takes home the Commonwealth Clash trophy, presented by Smithfield. The Hokies are looking to score more points than UVA during ACCs in hopes of beating their in-state rival.
