Defeated Big Ten champion #3 Austin Gomez from Wisconsin twice (Fall, 10-6) and SoCon champion No. 6 Jonathan Millner of App State (16-11, 9-4)... Was the No. 2 seed at ACC Championships in Charlottesville and went 1-1 to become a three-time ACC finalist... Five of 13 wins were by fall... 2020-21: NCAA Qualifier… Went 2-2 competing in first NCAA Championships in 2021… Finished second at 2021 ACC Championships for second straight year behind National Champion Austin O’Connor of North Carolina… Went 10-4 in second season as starter at 149 pounds… Only loss in regular season came at hands of O’Connor… Won an important decision victory over NC State’s Ed Scott in the teams’ dual match that clinched the ACC Dual Meet Title for the Hokies… Got his second pin of the season over NCAA qualifier Josh Finesilver of Duke… Defeated Campbell’s Josh Heil in first dual of the year.
2019-20: NCAA Qualifier... Placed second at the 2020 ACC Championships in Pittsburgh after a 10-3 decision win over AJ Leitten in the semifinals, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships… Went 8-3 in duals in his first season of competition… Posted a team-best 4-1 record in ACC competition… Recorded a team-high six falls, including one in 58 seconds… Recorded his first career technical fall versus Duke’s Wade Unger, 18-3 in 7:00… Won by fall in 2:19 over West Virginia’s Liam Lusher for his first dual meet bonus points… Made his dual debut against Chattanooga and won a 5-3 decision over Tanner Smith… Placed fifth at the ARMS Software/GMU Patriots Open after going 5-1... Finished second at the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open after going 4-1 with two pins and a major decision victory
