2020-21: NCAA Qualifier… Went 2-0 at NCAA Championships before medically withdrawing from tournament… Earned an at-large bid to 2021 NCAA Championships after medically withdrawing from ACC Championships… Went 10-2 starting at 165 pounds… Both losses were injury defaults… Was unbeaten until the last dual of the year versus Pitt when he had to take an injury default… Had one 28 straight collegiate matches dating back to the 2018-19 season before the injury default to Pitt… Was the No. 1 ranked wrestler at 165 pounds by InterMat, FloWrestling and TrackWrestling from the start of the year to the Pitt dual… Defeated NC State’s Thomas Bullard via 5-0 decision in their dual match… Held on to a 4-3 decision over Kennedy Monday of North Carolina… Defeated Virginia’s Jake Keating in an 8-2 decision in the Commonwealth Clash dual… Won his first collegiate match in over a year via 13-4 major decision in the season opener versus Campbell.
2019-20: Took an Olympic redshirt to train for 2020 Olympic Team Trials.
2018-19: NCAA Champion … ACC Champion … 2019 ACC Wrestler of the Year … Captured Virginia Tech wrestling’s first individual national championship at the 2019 NCAA Championships as the No. 8 seed … Defeated top-seeded Alex Marinelli of Iowa in the quarterfinals (3-1), the No. 4 seed Evan Wick of Wisconsin in the semis (5-2) and the No. 2 seed, two-time defending national champion Vincenzo Joseph of Penn State, in the final (7-1) … Pinned Virginia's Cam Coy (6:49) and beat Army's Cael McCormick by a 4-1 decision in his first two matches at NCAAs ... 2017-18: Redshirted … Went 28-2 overall with 19 bonus point victories wrestling unattached at 165 pounds … Ranked second on The Open Mat’s list of top redshirting freshmen in the nation … Only two losses of the season came at the Southern Scuffle against Lock Haven’s Chance Marsteller, who finished fourth at the 2018 NCAA Championships … Went 6-2 against wrestlers that qualified for nationals … Took first in five of the six open tournaments he competed in … Registered two tech falls and two wins by fall as part of a 5-0 showing at the Hokie Open … Pinned Clarion’s Paul Zacherl and defeated Duke’s Zach Finesilver by decision, 8-4, at the Wolfpack Open … Had two pins and a major decision at the Storm Open … Placed fourth at the prestigious Southern Scuffle with wins over Lehigh’s Gordon Wolf, a 10-3 major decision, and Keilan Torres of Northern Colorado, a 3-2 decision … Went 4-0 at the Appalachian State Open … Registered two falls and two major decisions at the Edinboro Open.
