Graduate Assistant
Chakiris Moss is entering his second season with the Hokies as a graduate assistant coach. Moss, who joined Tech as a GA in 2018 under then-coach Buzz Williams, was retained by coach Mike Young. In his first season, Moss was a part of one of the best seasons in school history, as Tech made it to the Sweet 16 and finished fifth in the ACC standings in 2018-19.

Moss came to the Hokies’ program after serving as the Head Assistant Coach at Louisburg College (NJCAA) in Louisburg, North Carolina. He helped lead the team to a 29-6 (18-2) record, including winning the Region X regular season and conference tournament championship, as well as advancing to the national tournament as the overall No. 3 seed. The Canes finished the season in the top 5 in the 2017-18 NJCAA Poll.

Prior to his time in Louisburg, Moss served as an assistant coach at Greensboro College from 2013-2017. In Greensboro, North Carolina, he was responsible for recruiting, coordinating strength and conditioning workouts, player development, scouting opponents, as well as basketball operations duties.

Moss was a four-year starting point guard at Greensboro College. He received numerous honors, including USA South Rookie of the Year (2009-10), a three-time USA South Defensive Player of the Year (2010-13), all-conference, finished third all-time in wins, second all-time in assists and second all-time in total minutes. Moss finished up his playing career after playing three semi-pro seasons with the Greensboro Cobras from 2013-2016.

A Savannah, Georgia native, Moss graduated from Greensboro College in 2013 with a BA in English and Communications.
