Prior to Virginia Tech: Thourogood spent one season (2025) as the wide receivers coach at Emory & Henry University, following nine years in the 757 area, including three at Bishop Sullivan High School (2015-17) and six at Oscar Smith High School (2018-23) in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he served as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator, building a strong reputation for player development and offensive production.

Education: James Madison University, 2015 (B.S in Criminal Justice) 

Personal: Thourogood played quarterback at Vanderbilt University in 2011, coming out of high school in Virginia Beach as one of the highest-rated prospects in his recruiting class. He later transferred to James Madison University in 2013. Thourogood and his wife, Isabella have two sons and a daughter- Havenn, Saint and Haze.
