Heidi Erb

Joined VT Athletics Staff: Heidi Erb arrived in Blacksburg in November 2025, following 8 seasons with Coach Franklin at Penn State. Heidi's primary responsibilities include assisting with team travel logistics, planning staff & player events, serving as the program's liaison to academics, planning summer football camps, & serving as the point of contact for the Head Football Coach in all areas.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Erb spent eight years at Penn State, serving as Director of Internal Operations & Head Coach Logistics during the 2025 season, assisting with team travel logistics, including the flight charter, team meals and post-season planning. Erb also oversaw planning for various staff and player events throughout the year. She was the point of contact for the head coach, overseeing all aspects of his daily operations, business and recruiting travel, and internal/external presentations.

 

Erb served as the Executive Assistant to the Head Coach from 2021 to 2025 and the Assistant Recruiting Coordinator for Operations and Visits from 2019 to 2021. During her time in recruiting, Erb assisted in planning gameday, unofficial and official visits, built relationships with prospective student-athletes and their families, oversaw the student internship program & planned summer football camps. Erb began her career as an operations assistant during her time as an undergrad at Penn State.

 

Education: Penn State, 2019 (B.S. in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management and a Smeal Fundamentals of Business Certificate from the Smeal College of Business)

 

Personal: A native of Halifax, Pennsylvania, Erb is engaged to Chris Mahon.
