Joined VT Athletics Staff: Emmanuel joined the VT Football staff in August of 2026 prior to the start of the 2026 Football season. Emmanuel's assists in the daily responsibilities related to Sports Science, including projects related to player performance and player health tracking.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Emmanuel has spent the last few years working as a strength & conditioning coach and sports scientist at different levels of professional soccer including with MLS affiliate San Jose Earthquakes II and most recently in the USL Championship with Monterey Bay FC. Emmanuel also has experience at the NCAA D1 level as a strength & conditioning coach at San Jose State University where he worked with different men's and women's sports and at East Tennessee State University where he worked primarily with men's soccer as part of his Doctoral studies.
Education: Emmanuel has a Bachelor's and Master's degree from San Jose State University (B.A. Communication Studies, M.A. Kinesiology) and Ph.D. From East Tennessee State University (Sports Physiology and Sports Performance).
Personal: Emmanuel is a native of San Jose, California.
