Responsibilities: Matthew Chung, D.O., CAQSM is a team physician for various Virginia Tech sports teams. He also serves as an assistant professor at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine teaching medical students, residents and Primary Care Sports Medicine fellows.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Chung came to Southwest Virginia first as a fellow at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Virginia Campus (VCOM) and Virginia Tech. He previously completed his family medicine residency training at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center (GVMC) in Lewisburg, WV.
Education: State University of New York at Geneseo, Bachelors of Science – Biology with a Minor in Psychology in 2010; West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) in 2015; GVMC, Family Medicine in 2018; VCOM/Virginia Tech, Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2019
Personal: Originally from NY but excited to be back and part of the VCOM and Virginia Tech family. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Chung lives in Blacksburg with his wife Kristen, and two children Brody and Miles.
