Matt Johnson Season 2021

2023: Played in all 13 games, primarily on special teams, making one tackle.

2022: Missed the 2022 season due to injury.  

2021: Played in four games ... Saw action vs. Richmond (9/25) and Notre Dame (10/9) ... Made a tackle vs. Duke (11/13) ... Recorded two tackles vs. Maryland (12/29).

2020: Did not play as he rehabbed a knee injury.

2019: Saw duty vs. Furman (9/14) and redshirted.
 
High School: Played for coach Chadwick Hornik at Deep Run High School… Had 161 carries for 890 yards and 8 touchdowns … Had 98 total tackles, 18 being for loss … Played running back and linebacker… Four-year letterman… All-region running back and linebacker… All-conference linebacker… Also, on the track and field team for two years… Martin Luther King Jr. Light of Hope award winner.
 
Personal: Son of Vicki Proctor and Michael Johnson Sr … Has an older brother, Michael… Cousin, Reon Dawson, played defensive back at the University of Michigan … Brother, Michael, plays defensive back and linebacker at James Madison University … Majoring in consumer studies.
