Beau Davidson enters his fourth season in Blacksburg and his first as director of recruiting. The Katy, Texas native has been instrumental in helping the Hokies land numerous players from his home state as part of the #TX2VT movement, as well as other talented performers from across the country. Davidson spent his first two years at Virginia Tech as an offensive quality control coach, working closely with the offensive line.  

Davidson spent the 2017 season at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. From 2010-16 he served in the Texas high school coaching ranks, working in a variety of coaching roles in addition to teaching chemistry and special education classes. In 2009, he served as defensive line coach at Northeastern State University where current Tech offensive coordinator Brad Cornelsen worked in the same capacity. Davidson’s resume also includes a stint at Trinity Valley Community College in 2008 after serving as a graduate assistant at his alma mater of North Texas in 2007. 
 
A three-year letterman for the Mean Green, Davidson played tight end and served as a long snapper at North Texas. He prepped at Katy High School in Katy, Texas where he played defensive end and tight end in addition to his work as a long snapper. Davidson’s father, Greg, also played at North Texas before serving as a center for the Houston Oilers (1980-82). 
 
Davidson and his wife, Leandra, are the parents of two daughters – Kate and Emma.
