Austin Cannon Season 2019

2020: Played in 10 contests and got the start vs. Virginia (12/12) on his Senior Day.

2019: Versatile former walk-on earned a scholarship and played an integral role in Tech’s offensive line rotation … Saw duty 12 games, making three starts ... Named to the PFF College ACC Team of the Week after entering the lineup vs. Rhode Island (10/12) … Made his first career start at left guard vs. North Carolina (10/19) … Shifted to right guard, starting the following two contests at that position at Notre Dame (11/2) and vs. Wake Forest (11/9). 

2018: Played in 12 games, primarily on special teams.

2017: Saw action at East Carolina (9/16), vs. Old Dominion (9/23) and at Miami (11/4).
 
2016: Spent the season redshirting.
 
High School: Played for coach Roscoe Johnson at Atlee High … Was a three-year starter and letter winner at left guard for the Raiders … Senior year was named first team all-state and first team All-Metro, while also receiving first team all-conference accolades as both a junior and senior … Also competed on the track team for coach Jim Triemilar in the shot put and discus events … Won three state titles – 2014 discus, 2015 indoor shot put and 2015 outdoor shot put … Was a four-time all-state performer, a seven-time conference champion and holds the school record in the shot put for both indoor and outdoor.
