2002: Joined the team as an invited walk-on ... Competed for the place-kicking, kickoff and punting duties during the preseason ... Went through additional competition for the place-kicking duties when Carter Warley was sidelined during the season ... Coaches decided to hold him out of action and redshirt him ... Booted an extra point and a 35-yard field goal during one spring scrimmage ... Added another PAT kick during the Maroon-White game ...

High School: Was a four-year letterman as a kicker and punter for Coach Mike Dewitt at Kellam High ... Set school record for career scoring by a kicker ... Made 18 field goals during his career, including a game-winning 37-yarder that earned Kellam its first-ever victory in a playoff game ... Had three games with more than 10 points kicking during his senior season ... Was named the first-team Group AAA kicker that year ... Also earned all-area, all-conference and all-region honors ... Was team MVP and played in the state high school all-star game during the summer of 2002 ... Lettered as a wrestler his freshman and sophomore years ...
