A talented young performer with a huge upside and the capability to help the Hokies at a number of positions ... Turned heads with his abilities during preseason practice last fall ... Ended up starting on three special team units and also saw action at cornerback ... Combines size, speed and athleticism with a good awareness of the game ... Took advantage of the strength and conditioning program during the winter ... Moved from corner to rover during the winter ... Finished the spring with a with a slight lead in the battle for the starting job ... Rates as a good tackler, who also has a good grasp of coverages ... Showed a knack for blocking kicks during practices last fall and went on to see action on a team-high 163 special team plays during the regular season ... Is in line to see a lot of action for the Hokies again in 2007.

2006: Worked at quarterback before moving to cornerback prior to the season opener ... Saw 33 plays at field corner during the Northeastern game ... Had a pair of tackles and broke up a pass ... Played 13 special teams downs in the Virginia game ... Was forced into action at cornerback in the bowl game against Georgia after starter Brandon Flowers went down with an injury ...
