High School: Played both quarterback and strong safety at Galax High School for head coach Shane Allen … Also coached by former Hokies running back Steven Peoples, now an assistant at Galax, who also began his Tech career as a walk-on … Four-year starter at quarterback, playing over 50 games at the position in high school … Led Galax to a 9-1 record and VHSL Class 1 state championship game in 2021 … Passed for over 1,100 yards and rushed for over 400 his senior year and was responsible for over 25 touchdowns … Also scored three defensive touchdowns at safety … Named WFXR Sports’ Friday Night Blitz Player of the Week (4/24/21) …  Also played basketball and baseball … Galax senior class vice president … Student-body representative for Galax City School Board.
