       Is anxious to return to action after missing the entire 2002 season ... Saw action at cornerback in 23 of 24 games during his first two seasons at Tech ... Was in the running for a starting job at field corner when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee prior to the start of preseason practice ... Underwent reconstructive surgery and began his rehab in the fall ... Worked extremely hard to get back in shape ... Returned to participate in all of the Hokies' spring drills and scrimmages ... Is right back in the thick of the battle for starting duties at the field corner position ... Still has some catching up to do from a technique and fundamental standpoint, but seems ready to go physically ... Was one of Tech's top special teams performers before the injury ... Blocked three punts during his first two seasons ... Possesses good size and athletic ability ... Got a lot of experience early in his career ... Found himself pressed into action as a true freshman in 2000 due to injuries at the cornerback position ... Ended up starting five games and playing nearly 400 defensive plays ... Was named second-team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News after the season ... Shared time at the field corner spot in 2001 and got a start against Syracuse ... Will be battling for the starting job again when practice resumes in August ...

2002: Missed the season while recovering from an off-season ACL injury ... Tore the ligament in a summer workout ... Redshirted while rehabbing the knee ... Was able to post a 36-inch vertical jump and 4.49 time in the forty during the off-season ... Worked at field corner during the spring ... Was in on three tackles and broke up a pass during the Maroon-White game ...

2001: Played in 10 games, recording 18 total tackles ... Had 11 solo tackles, seven assists, two passes broken up, two blocked kicks, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss ... Recorded a tackle and broke up a pass in the win over Connecticut ... Had four solo tackles, including three on special teams versus Western Michigan ... Played 28 total plays at Rutgers, 15 on defense ... Also blocked a punt that led to a safety in that game ... Played 47 total plays against UCF, recording a solo stop and two assists ... Got a start against Syracuse, recording an assist ... Did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh due to tonsillitis ... Played 42 snaps on defense against Temple and had a solo tackle ... Had a solo stop and two assists at Virginia ... Blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown against top-ranked Miami ... Had two solo tackles and an assist against the Hurricanes ... 2000: Played in all 12 games on both defense and special teams ... Worked with several different special team units, including the extra point, field goal and punt block teams ... Registered three tackles against Akron in his first collegiate action ... Earned BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his play in the Rutgers game ... Set up two first-half touchdowns in that game, one when he tackled RU punter Mike Barr for a 22-yard loss after a bad snap, and the other when he blocked a punt ... Also registered his first collegiate interception in that game and had two tackles ... Made his first start against Temple and turned in four tackles and two pass interceptions for 41 yards ... Also drew starts against West Virginia, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Miami ... Was in on a season-best five tackles versus WVU and broke up three passes ...
