Career Highlights: With his first start of the 2016 season at The Citadel on Feb. 20, the second game of the year for Tech, became the earliest true freshman to start on the mound for Tech in 17 years (Jason Bush, Feb. 26, season game No. 2 in 1999) ... Started season-opener of 2018 at Coastal Carolina (Feb. 16) after missing 2017 season recovering from TJ surgery - last making an appearance for Tech May 1, 2016 ... Finished 2019 with a strikeout per nine innings ratio of 11.26, the highest ever for a pitcher (min. 40 IP) since the team joined the ACC (2005) and the third lowest opponent's batting average (.210) ... 2016: Appeared in 12 games, which included five starts of which one was a quality start … Had a 6.87 ERA in a total of 38.0 innings, struck out 36 batters, walked 16 and posted a 1-3 record … Picked up his first collegiate win in relief appearance at Liberty (April 26) … Tossed a season-high 7.0 innings in a start versus Quinnipiac (March 5) and 5.0 in a relief outing at Louisville (April 3) … Threw at least 1.0 innings in all seven bullpen outings ... Inherited four runners and two of them scored … Retired 4-of-7 first batters faced … Struck out at least two batters nine times, including a season-high five three times - Quinnipiac, versus Radford (April 13) and against Pitt (April 16) … Struck out the side in the eighth for the first time in his college career against Radford … Pitched a total of 24 scoreless innings, including 7.0 consecutive … Also, threw 10 perfect frames and, at one point, retired 16 straight batters … Was the only pitcher with more than 12 innings pitched that did not allow a home run.
High School: Earned varsity letters all four years while playing for coach Bruce Secrest at The Steward School … Named Virginia’s Gatorade state player of the year after going 6-1 with a 0.79 ERA his senior season … Also, struck out 50 batters in 44.1 innings … For his career, was 28-7 with a 1.33 ERA in 210 innings and struck out 237 batters … A four-time VISAA DII First Team All-State (2012-15), who helped the Spartans to their first state baseball title in 2014.
