Virginia Tech earned the No. 1 seed at the 2022 ACC Baseball Championship courtesy of its 19-9 league record.

John Szefc led Virginia Tech to 45 wins during 2022 (fourth most all-time), headlining the Hokies' year-end ACC honors.

During the 2022 MLB Draft, outfielder Gavin Cross became Virginia Tech's highest all-time draft selection when he was taken No. 9 overall by the Kansas City Royals.
