Sakellaris Pitching Lab

Opened during the fall 2023 season and fully completed in January 2024, the Sakellaris Pitching Lab is the new, state-of-the-art, development home of the Virginia Tech baseball pitching staff. It is equipped with the sport's premier technology dedicated to breaking down pitching mechanics, providing immediate performance feedback and positioning the Hokies' arms among the top pitching contenders in the ACC and the nation.

The facility is named after the generous contributions by the Sakellaris family - George, Cathy, Christina and Peter, who pitched for Virginia Tech from 2020 to 2023.

Inside, the Sakellaris Pitching Lab houses two turf pitching lanes decked out with high-speed cameras (i.e. Edgertronic), Trackman software, monitors and more. Additionally, the venue is outfitted with strength bands and weights, making it a year-round development center for Virginia Tech's pitching staff.

Tucked between the Sakellaris Pitching Lab and the English Field outfield wall lie two functional, turf outdoor pitching lanes where the Hokies now operate their bullpen during home gamedays.

• Via U.S. 460 Exit 6:  Continue onto Southgate Drive ... At the first roundabout, take the second exit to remain on Southgate Drive ... At the second roundabout, take the second exit to merge onto Duck Pond Drive ... Proceed straight ... Gameday parking: Available via left turn into the Cage Parking Lot on the corner of Duck Pond Drive and Washington Street ... Service Access: Turn right at Washington Street; take first right onto Garden Lane; bear right at fork and turn into parking area ...
