Enters preseason practice as the backup to Chris Stanton ... Could take over that spot if he develops some offensive consistency, allowing the coaches to play Stanton in the outfield ... Will be watched closely during preseason practice ... 2003-04: Got 14 starts and played in a total of 27 games ... Had eight starts at second base and two at DH early in the season ... Contributed a double and a run batted in at UNC Wilmington ... Was 2-for-2 in a win at Georgetown ... Had two hits in three trips to the plate at Virginia ...
