Improved his batting average from .268 as a freshman to .392 last season ... Learned to utilize his speed ... Held down the lead-off duties in the Tech batting order and topped the team in on-base percentage at .453 ... Led the team in multiple-hit games with 30 ... Put together a string of six-straight multiple-hit games late in the season and had two or more hits in 11 of 14 games at one point ... Led the team in batting during BIG EAST games with a .418 average ... Provided solid defense in his first season as a third baseman ... Was outstanding playing bunts and slow rollers ... 2001-02: Worked at third base during the fall, but was pressed into action in the outfield when spring rolled around ... Ended up starting 42 games in left field and one in center ... Contributed two hits, two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base against The Citadel in his first collegiate game ... Tripled and drove in two runs in a win over Western Michigan ... Put together a five-game hitting streak in late March, but saw his batting average hover around the .200 mark until mid-April ... Collected 23 hits in 68 at bats (.338) during an 18-game stretch to pull his final season average to .248 ... Singled in the game-winning run in the final inning of a 2-1 victory over Rutgers ... Hit his lone home run of the season in a game at Georgetown and added two RBIs and three runs scored ... Went 3-for-3 with a triple and three runs batted in against East Tennessee State ... Had a four-hit game at home against High Point, scoring three times and driving in a run ... Shared the team lead in stolen bases with 12 in 18 attempts ... Finished the season with 38 runs scored and 24 runs batted in ... Registered three doubles, two triples and a homer ... Tied for the team lead in outfield assists with four ... Had two of those assists in a home game against High Point ... Hit .356 with runners in scoring position and was 3-for-4 with the bases loaded ... Was hit by pitches 15 times ...
